Softball Recap: Mountain View Has No Trouble Against Summit

Mountain View came out on top against Summit on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Cougars put the hurt on the Storm with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Kallie Eckman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Blaire Eckman, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Mountain View and bumps their season record up to 11-11. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-14-1 Summit and 4-13-1 Redmond. As for Summit, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mountain View will challenge rival Caldera at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Summit is set to take on their familiar foe Redmond at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
