Soccer Recap: Galileo Comes Up Short

Galileo lost to Nelson County back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons lost 8-0 to the Governors. While losing is never fun, Galileo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Nelson County are ranked 42nd).

Galileo is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Nelson County, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

Coming up, Galileo will challenge Chatham at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nelson County, they will square off against Dan River at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dan River's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
