Basketball Game Preview: Friona Chieftans vs. Idalou Wildcats

The Friona Chieftans and the Idalou Wildcats will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Friona came up into this matchup off a tough 60-point defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Lubbock T by a score of 42-40 on Friday. The Chieftans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Idalou came up short against Floydada on Saturday and fell 59-51. The Wildcats have struggled against the Whirlwinds recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Idalou's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Friona, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Friona barely slipped by Idalou in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, winning 56-55. Will Friona repeat their success, or does Idalou have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
