Softball Recap: Crisp Academy Wildcats vs. Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars
With a playoff game on the line, Crisp Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ansley Simpson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jenna Wildes, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and a double.
The victory made it two in a row for Crisp Academy and bumps their season record up to 12-13. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Crisp Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-2 win against Robert Toombs Christian Academy on the 18th. Thomas Jefferson Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
