Baseball Recap: Chippewa Valley Comes Up Short

Chippewa Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dakota Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Monday.

Shaun Freitag was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

Chippewa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 14-10-1. As for Dakota, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-1 record this season.

While Chippewa Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
