Hayden is a perfect 9-0 against Caprock Academy since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hayden Tigers will host the Caprock Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hayden is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against De Beque on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hayden was dealt a 60-23 defeat at the hands of De Beque. The Tigers have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Chase Howard, who posted seven points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Sydney Wattles, who had four points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hayden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Caprock Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Grand Junction Central, falling 52-29. The Eagles were down 42-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Caprock Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Hayden, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Hayden beat Caprock Academy 41-31 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Hayden have another victory up their sleeve, or will Caprock Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
