Baseball Game Preview: McCall-Donnelly Vandals vs. Fruitland Grizzlies

McCall-Donnelly is 0-8 against Fruitland since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Vandals will host the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. McCall-Donnelly has given up an average of 17.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

McCall-Donnelly is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 23rd straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Cole Valley Christian, falling 18-0.

Meanwhile, Fruitland strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over Kimberly. That's two games straight that the Grizzlies have won by exactly eight runs.

Max Vidlak was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Sutton Fitch was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fruitland's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0. As for McCall-Donnelly, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

McCall-Donnelly might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Fruitland when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Vandals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
