Football Recap: Fort Bend Elkins Starts Season with Win Against Heights + How To Watch

Fort Bend Elkins gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 win over the Heights Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tyson Craft was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Johnny Jay Palmer was another key rusher, rushing for 72 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fort Bend Elkins was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Heights' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kobe Miles, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of scores, and Kaden Cole, who picked up 141 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Fort Bend Elkins wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 38-21 loss against Dawson on the 5th. As for Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-14 defeat against Clear Springs on the 5th.
