Preview: Idea Timberwolves vs. DC International Dragons
Idea has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the DC International Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Idea slipped by Maya Angelou Public Charter 1-0.
Meanwhile, DC International faced Anacostia in a battle between two of the state's top teams. DC International sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 victory over Anacostia on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but DC International sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
DC International's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eva Waters, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Waters hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Karter Kundera was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Idea's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Despite that those good results, the team's offense hasn't been rolling: across that stretch, they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for DC International, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Idea was taken down by DC International 43-13 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Idea was down 31-2.
