Basketball Game Preview: St. Joseph Central Catholic Crimson Streaks vs. Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains

St. Joseph Central Catholic hasn't had much luck against Hopewell-Loudon recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The St. Joseph Central Catholic Crimson Streaks will take on the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains at 7:00 p.m.

St. Joseph Central Catholic is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Gibsonburg on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. St. Joseph Central Catholic was dealt a 68-38 loss at the hands of Gibsonburg. While losing is never fun, the Crimson Streaks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 705th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 220th).

Hopewell-Loudon hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Old Fort by a score of 49-37 on Saturday.

Hopewell-Loudon's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.

St. Joseph Central Catholic was dealt a bruising 63-34 defeat at the hands of Hopewell-Loudon in their previous meeting back in January. Can St. Joseph Central Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
