Basketball Game Preview: Saint Viator Lions vs. Marist RedHawks

Saint Viator hasn't had much luck against Marist recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Saint Viator Lions will get right back to it and host the Marist RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Saint Viator is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-57 heartbreaker at the hands of Lake Forest Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since January 4, 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Marist's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Benet Academy. While losing is never fun, the RedHawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Redwings are ranked first).

Marist's loss dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Saint Viator, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11.
