Volleyball Game Preview: Calvary Saints vs. Springfield Southeast Spartans

Calvary is 2-8 against Springfield Southeast since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Saints will welcome the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Calvary will be strutting in after a win while Springfield Southeast will be coming in after a loss.

Calvary is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since October 2nd on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past Bunker Hill 2-1. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Minutemen recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Calvary who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 20-25, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Springfield Southeast came up short against Rochester on Tuesday and fell 2-0.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14.

Calvary's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Springfield Southeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-19.

Calvary came out on top in a nail-biter against Springfield Southeast when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Saints have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
