Recap: Spackenkill Spartans vs. Marlboro Central Dukes
The Spackenkill Spartans fell victim to the Marlboro Central Dukes''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Dukes, falling 31-0. Spackenkill has struggled against Marlboro Central recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Miles Brooks had a dynamite game for Marlboro Central, throwing for 176 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 100 yards on only ten carries. Marlboro Central also got a significant boost from Ryan Durling, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Marlboro Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Ryan Emig and his two sacks.
Spackenkill has fallen quite a ways from their 8-2 record last season and are now at 1-7. As for Marlboro Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Spackenkill will head out on the road to face off against Dover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dover comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Marlboro Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
