Softball Recap: Brusly Extends Road Winning Streak to Nine

Brusly put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the Plaquemine Green Devils get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Green Devils: they've now won seven in a row.

Abigail Heidbrink looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on LillyRose Albarez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Addison Stein was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Brusly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Brusly pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Plaquemine, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9.

Coming up, Brusly will head out on the road to take on Kinder at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kinder's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Brusly's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Plaquemine, they will be playing at home against Baker at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
