Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Bonita Vista's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Southwest SD came into Friday's game looking for another win against Bonita Vista, but Aaron Owens wouldn't allow it. The Bonita Vista Barons enjoyed a cozy 63-47 victory over the Southwest SD Raiders on Friday thanks in part to Owens, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 boards. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played.

Southwest SD's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Soltero, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Khalid Deiranieh, who put up 14 points.

Bonita Vista is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Southwest SD, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-5.
