Basketball Recap: Catoosa Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ta'nei West and Jacquelyn Cornwell

Catoosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 33-27 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hilldale Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-25 back in January.

Jacquelyn Cornwell and Ta'Nei West certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Cornwell posted eight points along with six rebounds and three steals, while West put up eight points. Cornwell is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played.

Catoosa's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Hilldale, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Catoosa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 44-43 win against Preston on the 8th. As for Hilldale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-34 loss against Fort Gibson on the 11th.
