Basketball Recap: West Linn Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

If St. Mary's Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played West Linn, they should've done a better job of containing Reese Jordan. The West Linn Lions claimed a resounding 79-5 victory over the St. Mary's Academy Blues thanks in part to Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. She is becoming a predictor of West Linn's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 6-3 (and 2-3 when she doesn't).

Another player making a difference was Ayla Arnold, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points and eight steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

The win made it two in a row for West Linn and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for St. Mary's Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

West Linn will square off against Lakeridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in West Linn's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will face off against Oregon City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
