Volleyball Recap: Granby Falls Short Against Ranked Kellam

Granby faced Kellam in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Comets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Andrew Parker paced Granby's offense, picking up six kills. Parker got some help from Will Findlay and his 18 assists. Parker was also a major player on defense: he and Brandon Layne shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Granby's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Kellam, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Granby has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Booker T. Washington on the 15th. As for Kellam, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Kecoughtan on the 13th.
