Basketball Game Preview: Cottonwood Colts vs. Jordan Beetdiggers

Cottonwood is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Jordan is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Cottonwood Colts will host the Jordan Beetdiggers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cottonwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.

Cottonwood is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Park City: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Cottonwood blew Park City out of the water with a 52-25 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Colts had established a 20 point advantage.

Cottonwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Workman out in front who posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave Workman a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Avea Van Der Beek, who had 14 points.

Meanwhile, Jordan beat Murray 50-37 on Tuesday.

Jordan is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points per game. As for Cottonwood, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Cottonwood was able to grind out a solid victory over Jordan in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 48-40. Will Cottonwood repeat their success, or does Jordan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
