Chardon has gone 8-2 against Mayfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hilltoppers will venture away from home to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Mayfield took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Chardon, who comes in off a win.

Chardon not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 52-0). They took their contest with ease, bagging a 44-6 win over North. With the Hilltoppers ahead 37-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Mayfield played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 49-14 loss at the hands of Riverside. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Beavers are ranked 90th).

Although Mayfield took the loss, they still got scores from Ryan Eppich and Jayden Haynes.

Mayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Chardon, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.

Chardon took their victory against Mayfield when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 31-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hilltoppers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
