Football Recap: East Duplin Piles Up the Points Against Heide Trask + How To Watch

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely East Duplin's strategy against Heide Trask on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panthers blew the Titans out of the water with a 38-6 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Titans are ranked 330th).

Aaron Hall was his usual excellent self, rushing for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. East Duplin also got a significant boost from Shawn Davis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

East Duplin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dwayne Davis and Maddox Weis.

Heide Trask's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamajah Wilson, who rushed for 144 yards and one TD on only 14 carries.

The win made it two in a row for East Duplin and bumps their season record up to 5-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-5 Southwest Onslow and 3-4 Heide Trask. As for Heide Trask, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, East Duplin will head out to challenge Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Dark Horses have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Heide Trask, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southwest Onslow at 7:00 p.m. The Titans will be up against the Stallions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
