Baseball Recap: South Decatur Comes Up Short

South Decatur and North Decatur faced off in a cross-town battle on Wednesday. The Cougars came up short against the Chargers, falling 10-3. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

South Decatur saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Corbin Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

South Decatur has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for North Decatur, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Decatur will square off against Hauser at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Jets will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Decatur, they will challenge Greensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
