Basketball Game Preview: Discovery Canyon Thunder vs. Lutheran Lions

Discovery Canyon is 0-4 against Lutheran since January of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Discovery Canyon Thunder will look to defend their home court against the Lutheran Lions at 6:00 p.m.

Discovery Canyon is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Air Academy on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Discovery Canyon had to suffer through a 75-18 loss at the hands of Air Academy. The match marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lutheran's game on Wednesday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Palmer Ridge by a score of 36-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Lutheran's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Discovery Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Discovery Canyon lost to Lutheran at home by a decisive 48-31 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Discovery Canyon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
