Baseball Game Preview: Creekside Knights vs. Bartram Trail Bears

Creekside and Bartram Trail are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Creekside Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Bartram Trail Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Creekside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Bartram Trail's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Creekside fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Bartram Trail on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 4-3.

Gavin Duprey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Creekside is 2-1 when Duprey allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Connor Balazic made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Creekside's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bartram Trail, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
