Recap: Elba Tigers vs. Brantley Bulldogs
Even though the Elba Tigers have not done well against the Brantley Bulldogs recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Elba had just enough and edged Brantley out 54-52. The score was all tied up 29-29 at the break, but Elba was the better team in the second half.
When it comes to explaining why Brantley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Parks. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Parks has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jon Kilcrease, who scored 12 points.
Elba pushed their record up to 15-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Brantley, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Elba will be playing at home against Zion Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brantley, they will head out on the road to challenge McKenzie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
