Baseball Recap: Pleasant Grove Find Success

While Pleasant Grove's victory against Lone Peak wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Knights 9-8. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Keaton Nordick tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mason Hawk Henry was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Drew Smith was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Pleasant Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matches.

Pleasant Grove's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Lone Peak, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.

As of now, neither Pleasant Grove nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
