Basketball Game Preview: Bronson Eagles vs. Bell Bulldogs

The Bronson Eagles will challenge the Bell Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bronson is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against First Christian on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Bronson took a blow against First Christian, falling 56-20. The Eagles were down 47-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Bell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-49 heartbreaker at the hands of Dixie County.

Bronson will have to contain Maddie Smith as she made an impact in Bell's last game. She posted 22 points and eight steals. What's more, Smith also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Dacy Graham was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Bell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Bronson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Bronson came out on top in a nail-biter against Bell in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 45-43. Does Bronson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
