Football Recap: North Surry Comes Up Short + How To Watch

North Surry lost against East Surry back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Greyhounds fell 20-8 to the Cardinals. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, North Surry still got an impressive performance from David Schuyler, who rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. The Greyhounds also got a significant boost from Zamarri Sweatman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 106 yards.

East Surry found their leader in sophomore Nathan Kiger, who rushed for 192 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Kiger has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

North Surry's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for East Surry, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.

North Surry didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-15 win against Surry Central on the 17th. As for East Surry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 47-28 defeat against West Stokes on the 17th.
