Baseball Game Preview: Meek Tigers vs. Holly Pond Broncos

The Meek Tigers will head out to square off against the Holly Pond Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meek has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Last Tuesday, Meek didn't have quite enough to beat Carbon Hill and fell 13-12. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost six in a row.

Conner Lane stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Meek is 3-1 when Lane posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan McCay, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Holly Pond fell victim to Oneonta and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to the Redskins. The Broncos' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Holly Pond's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Meek, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
