Basketball Recap: Christ the King Comes Up Short

Christ the King was the 48-44 winner over Woodlands Academy when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Christ the King Gladiators lost to the Woodlands Academy Wildcats on the road by a 29-14 margin on Tuesday. The game marked the Gladiators' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Woodlands Academy can attribute much of their success to Dyana Santoyo, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Santoyo a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariella Bridarolli, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Christ the King's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Woodlands Academy, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9.

Christ the King does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodlands Academy, they will take on Wheaton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
