Softball Recap: Fairport Takes a Loss

Fairport lost against Fayetteville-Manlius on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Red Raiders took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leila Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on nine hits.

Fairport's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Coming up, Fairport will square off against Penfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cicero-North Syracuse at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
