Preview: Dover Green Wave vs. Concord Crimson Tide
Dover has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Concord Crimson Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dover will be strutting in after a win while Concord will be coming in after a defeat.
After only ten points in their last matchup, Dover made sure to put some points up on the board against Timberlane on Thursday. Dover took down Timberlane 42-28.
Ryder Aubin had an outrageously good game as he threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 113 yards on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Syncere Bailey, who rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, Concord faced Bedford in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Concord took a serious blow against Bedford on Thursday, falling 46-7. Concord's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Dover now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Concord, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Everything went Dover's way against Concord in their previous meeting back in September of 2021 as Dover made off with a 39-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dover since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
