Volleyball Recap: Vivian Highland and Allie Travaglini Secure Win for Marple Newtown

There's no place like home for Marple Newtown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Upper Darby Royals on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Fightin' Tigers haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Marple Newtown was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-10, 25-15.

Marple Newtown was led to victory by Allie Travaglini and Vivian Highland. Travaglini had five aces and three digs, while Highland had ten digs. Those five aces gave Travaglini a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Marple Newtown was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive games.

The victory got Marple Newtown back to even at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marple Newtown will challenge Sun Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Upper Darby, they will venture away from home to square off against Sacred Heart Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
