Basketball Recap: Tristan Taylor's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clarkrange over Sunbright

Clarkrange was the 81-46 winner over Sunbright when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Clarkrange Buffaloes fell 62-53 to the Sunbright Tigers on Friday. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clarkrange's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Taylor, who went 6 of 9 en route to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Taylor a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Noah Gunter, who posted 16 points.

It was another big night for Garrett Rogers, who put up 32 points for Sunbright. Sunbright is 6-3 when Rogers posts 25 or more points, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Walker, who had 13 points.

Clarkrange's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Sunbright, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Clarkrange didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-26 win against Rockwood on the 28th. As for Sunbright, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-33 victory against Cloudland on the 28th.
