Basketball Game Preview: Belmont Bison vs. Carroll Patriots

Belmont is 0-3 against Carroll since February of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Belmont Bison will take on the Carroll Patriots in a tournament on Wednesday.

Belmont is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game two weeks ago. They were outmatched by Mercy McAuley and fell 63-11. The Bison were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-5.

Mashayla Valentine was Belmont's leading scorer, having posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Carroll entered their tilt with Batavia on Monday with 13 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 14. They claimed a resounding 79-38 win over the Bulldogs. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Carroll's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points over those games. As for Belmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Belmont took a serious blow against Carroll in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, falling 56-14. Can Belmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
