Baseball Game Preview: Noble Knights vs. Deering Rams

The Noble Knights will head out on the road to take on the Deering Rams at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Noble's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Deering's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Noble's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Scarborough hitters got past them. The Knights lost 10-0 to the Red Storm on Thursday. The Knights have struggled against the Red Storm recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Noble saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Roberts, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Roberts has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Deering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Massabesic. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since April 29th.

Noble's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Deering, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Noble came out on top in a nail-biter against Deering when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
