Munford strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 29-24 W against the Germantown Red Devils. Those 29 points were actually the fewest the Cougars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Bricen Turnage had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 160 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made six total tackles. Tay Starks also helped out as he racked up 114 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Munford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 349 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 226 rushing yards in 19 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Munford's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Turnage, Kylan Sharp, and Caleb Polk, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Munford's record is now 9-0. As for Germantown, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Munford will welcome Memphis Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for Germantown, they will square off against Southwind at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars' defense has only allowed 9.8 points per game this season, so the Red Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them.
