Baseball Game Preview: Islip Buccaneers vs. Rocky Point Eagles

For the second straight game, Islip will face off against Rocky Point. The Buccaneers will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Islip 2.6, Rocky Point 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Islip fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Rocky Point on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Dylan Broschart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

The win (which was Rocky Point's third in a row) raised their record to 7-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Islip, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
