Basketball Recap: Marvell Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marvell Academy can now relate to. They were beaten by the Woodlawn Prep Wolfpack 69-19 on Tuesday. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Woodlawn Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylon Reed, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 17 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Reed's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Sinclair, who went 8-for-17 on his way to 20 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marvell Academy fell to 2-1. As for Woodlawn Prep, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 28-3.

Marvell Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodlawn Prep, they will square off against Delta Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Woodlawn Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
