Baseball Game Preview: Peninsula Catholic Knights vs. Steward Spartans

Peninsula Catholic hasn't had much luck against Steward recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights will venture away from home to take on the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Peninsula Catholic has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Peninsula Catholic's offense. They came up short against Life Christian Academy on Thursday, falling 13-0. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Peninsula Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Simon Payntar, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Steward, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Fredericksburg Christian by a score of 6-3 on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Steward now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Peninsula Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Peninsula Catholic might still be hurting after the 29-0 loss they got from Steward when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
