Soccer Game Preview: Layton vs. American Fork

The Layton Lancers will head out on The road to square off against The American Fork Cavemen at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. American Fork is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

Layton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Corner Canyon on Thursday. The Lancers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers.

Meanwhile, American Fork faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cavemen came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0. The win is more of the same for American Fork, who have now won five matches in a row.

Layton has traveled a rocky road for a while, having lost three of their last four games. That's done some real damage to their 3-3 record this season. As for American Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
