Football Game Preview: Garrett Railroaders vs. Angola Hornets

The Garrett Railroaders will head out to take on the Angola Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Garrett will be strutting in after a win while Angola will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Garrett needed a bit of extra time to put away Fairfield. They walked away with a 21-14 victory over the Falcons. The win continues a trend for the Railroaders in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

The critical scores for Garrett came from Brayden Nusbaum, Kayden Bush, and Carter Fielden.

Meanwhile, Angola played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of Andrean. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Hornets couldn't push the score so high this time.

Even if they lost, Angola's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Owen Shull, Gus Heavin, and Niles Knox, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Garrett's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Angola, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Garrett against Angola in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-14 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Hornets' Hawk Hasselman, who rushed for 68 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also threw for 75 yards and one touchdown.
