Basketball Recap: Long Trail Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sharon Academy last Saturday, Long Trail came back down to earth. Long Trail lost to the Poultney Blue Devils on the road by a 69-50 margin on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Poultney this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-28 back in January.

Long Trail has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Poultney, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Long Trail will take on West Rutland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Poultney has already played their next game (against Sharon Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
