Basketball Recap: Clint Takes a Loss

Clint was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mountain View Lobos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-49 back in January.

Despite the loss, Clint still got an impressive performance from Matthew Portillo, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. That was a full 56.8% of Clint's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Isaiah Lopez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Mountain View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Devin Gonzalez out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deurice Goss, who earned eight points and seven boards.

Clint's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Mountain View, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-16.

Clint has already played their next contest, a 70-34 defeat against Ysleta on the 4th. As for Mountain View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-48 loss against Riverside on the 4th.
