Soldotna faced Dimond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Stars blew past the Lynx 56-7. The Stars' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Andon Wolverton had a dynamite game, rushing for 108 yards and four scores on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Owen Buckbee, who rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Soldotna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 324 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Soldotna's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Dimond, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
