Recap: Lakeland Christian Vikings vs. Frostproof Bulldogs
The Lakeland Christian Vikings won the last time they faced the Frostproof Bulldogs, and things went their way on Thursday too. Lakeland Christian took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 57-19 victory over Frostproof. Given Lakeland Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Frostproof is ranked 573rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeland Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eleni Katzaras, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Kiya Boyce, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sanyqua Sloan, who scored seven points.
The win makes it two in a row for Lakeland Christian and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Frostproof, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland Christian will square off against Tenoroc at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Frostproof, they will head out on the road to face off against Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Victory Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
