The Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Salesianum Sallies at 11:00 a.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Hodgson Vo-Tech faced Appoquinimink in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hodgson Vo-Tech walked away with a 21-14 win over Appoquinimink. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hodgson Vo-Tech.
Hodgson Vo-Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xavier Brown led the charge by rushing for 16 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 195 yards and a touchdown. Maki Beach was another key contributor, rushing for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Hodgson Vo-Tech's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Leading the way was Dwain Baker and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Salesianum stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Middletown with a sharp 37-14 win. The victory was nothing new for Salesianum as they're now sitting on four straight.
Hodgson Vo-Tech has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Salesianum, their victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Hodgson Vo-Tech suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Salesianum in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Will Hodgson Vo-Tech have more luck at home instead of on the road?
