Football Recap: Archbishop Carroll Starts off Right with Win over Roosevelt + How To Watch

Archbishop Carroll had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 37-18 victory over the Roosevelt Roughriders on Saturday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Roughriders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Archbishop Carroll's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Glass, who threw for 189 yards and three TDs. What's more, Glass racked up 14 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Daquarn Tibbs was Glass' top target, picking up 109 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Archbishop Carroll's defense and their seven sacks. Amari James was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Jayden McNair was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making ten total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

Coming up, Archbishop Carroll will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Friendship Collegiate Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Roosevelt, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Indian Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
