Basketball Recap: Ryder Gorham Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Colon

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mendon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with an 80-73 victory over the Colon Magi. The game was the first time the Hornets have beaten the Magi on their court since December 6, 2022.

Mendon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryder Gorham, who dropped a triple-double with 23 points, ten boards, and ten assists. Gorham's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Gorham, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds.

Mendon has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Mendon is taking a road trip to square off against Constantine at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Colon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
