Basketball Recap: Earlville Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

If Somonauk wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Earlville, they should've done a better job of containing Adam Waite. The Earlville Red Raiders came out on top against the Somonauk Bobcats by a score of 46-37 on Friday thanks in part to Waite, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. What's more, he also racked up five blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

Earlville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points over those games. As for Somonauk, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Earlville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-55 loss against Polo on the 10th. As for Somonauk, they have also already played their next match, a 46-44 defeat against Illinois Math & Science Academy on the 11th.
